Who owns this site

Kegnotes is published by Daniel Stevens, who also runs DrinkCountr, a drink-tracking SaaS for home bar hosts. We mention this here on purpose. The two are related publications by the same person, not independent sites pretending not to know each other.

We link to DrinkCountr on the Tools page and occasionally in articles where it's contextually relevant: typically posts about cost-recovery, who-paid-what at parties, or scoreboard mechanics. We don't link to DrinkCountr from the sitewide footer or from articles where it has nothing useful to add. If you'd rather skip those mentions entirely, the rest of the site is unaffected.

Affiliate relationships

Some product links on this site are affiliate links, which means Kegnotes may earn a commission if you buy through them. As of May 2026, affiliate programs we participate in include:

When we add affiliate links, we'll update this page with the date and the program. Affiliate commissions never affect what we recommend or how we write about a product. If a $40 cleaner is better than a $200 one, we'll say so.

Sponsored content

We don't publish sponsored content. If we ever do, posts will be clearly labelled Sponsored at the top, the relationship will be named in the article, and we'll add it to this page.

AI-assisted drafting

Some Kegnotes articles are drafted with AI assistance (Anthropic's Claude). Every article is reviewed, edited, and approved by Daniel before it's published. We follow a quality checklist for factual accuracy, original perspective, and information gain over existing search results.

Updates

This page is updated whenever a relationship changes. The git history of this site is the canonical record of changes; we'll make the repo public if and when that's helpful to readers.
