About Kegnotes
Kegnotes is editorial. Not a store. We write plainly about home kegerator ownership: the maintenance, the buying decisions, the troubleshooting calls we'd otherwise make at 11pm before a party.

Who writes it
Daniel Stevens. Founder of DrinkCountr, a drink-tracking app used by home bar hosts across the US, UK, and Australia. Daniel doesn't own a kegerator himself; the notes here draw on years of conversations with hundreds of customers who do.
One of those customers is Alex, a long-time DrinkCountr user with a home bar in the UK. Alex's setup is the recurring case study throughout these notes: his foamy beer mysteries, his CO2 leak in the depths of last winter, his eventual switch from a starter kegerator to a Perlick-faucet build. With his permission.
How we write
Plainly. In US English. With specific numbers and brand names where they help, and without the SEO-fluff that pads out most kegerator content online.
Some posts are drafted with AI assistance. Every post is reviewed and edited before it goes live. We follow a quality checklist that bans hedging, banned-list buzzwords, and content that doesn't say anything the top 10 ranking results don't already say.
What we cover
- Maintenance: beer line cleaning, faucet care, drip-tray sanity
- Troubleshooting: foamy beer, flat beer, refrigeration weirdness
- CO2 systems: tank sizing, pressures, refill economics
- Buying: kegerators by budget tier, brand comparisons, part upgrades
- Setup: first-time owner walkthroughs, balancing pressure, line-length math
- Sourcing: where to buy kegs, how long they last, storage logistics
What we don't cover
We don't write health-app content. We don't lecture about responsible drinking. We don't write reviews of bars or beers. We don't sell anything directly. We mention specific products when they help a maintenance or buying question, and we disclose affiliate and product relationships at /disclosure/.
